Renowned media activist and author Jean Kilbourne and World Pulse founder Jensine Larsen to speak at the Lane Peace Symposium
EUGENE, OR - The Lane Peace Center's sixth annual peace symposium, "Rise to End Gender Violence!" will be held Friday, April 19. The symposium will be at the Lane Community College main campus, Center for Meeting and Learning, building 19. This event is free and open to the public.

Two keynote sessions, with both Jean Kilbourne and Jensine Larsen, will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 6:30-9:15 p.m.
Additional workshops and presentations will be held from 1:30-4:45 p.m. These include a "Sexual Awareness Advocacy Team Training" by Abigail Leeder and University of Oregon SWAT team students; a "Anti Oppression" workshop by Maria Paladino, former executive director of Sexual Assault Support Services; a "Trauma Healing Project" presentation by Elaine Walters, founder and director of the Trauma Healing Project; and a "Gender and Media" presentation by Reeanna Sage, LCC Oregon Student Association organizer, and LCC student leaders.
Events are free and open to all. Donations go directly to cover the cost of the symposium and the work of the Lane Peace Center.
