"Bridegroom of Blowing Rock" opens at LCC April 11

EUGENE, OR - Set in Blowing Rock, North Carolina as the Civil War draws to a close, "The Bridegroom of Blowing Rock" tells the story of the Farthing family. Jacob wants to leave his life behind and find a new life in Tennessee while Laurel holds on to the hope that her Union soldier will return and take her away into the fantasy world he creates with his seductively tall tales. Elsa desperately tries to keep her family together while convincing them that their only hope for survival lies in vengeance. The play provides an insightful look into the lives of those dealing with this devastating event in American history while weaving a tragically romantic story out of passion, forgiveness and the need to believe the lies of those we love.Laurel and the Bridegroom
