EUGENE, OR - Are you a people person with time on your hands? Help your neighbors in Eugene, Springfield, Cottage Grove, Creswell, Junction City, or Oakridge—and earn a bit of tax-free funding in the process.
As a Senior Companion Program volunteer, you will visit frail elders and adults living with disabilities each week, to help them stay independent. The program is accepting applications and providing training right now. You must be age 55 or better, meet low income guidelines, be willing to provide weekly visits for 15 or more hours a week, and pass a physical exam and criminal background check.
The program provides a tax-free stipend of $2.65/hour, along with meal and mileage reimbursements, training, and ongoing support.
The Senior Companion Program is a nationwide program and has been locally sponsored by Lane Community College for almost 40 years.
