Bi-Mart, Food for Lane County, and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association partner with the Lane Titans
EUGENE, OR - The Lane Community College Titan basketball teams will host their Sixth Annual Jam the Gym night on Saturday, February 9, in the building 5 gym on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene.
This year the event supports Food for Lane County and also the Play for Kay breast cancer awareness campaign sponsored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
"This event really continues to grow," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Greg Sheley. "Bi-Mart is providing pink T-shirts for the first 500 spectators. We are asking people to bring a non-perishable food item for Food for Lane County, and/or make a donation towards cancer research through the Kay Yow Foundation, instead of paying admission."
Tip-off for the women's game is 2 p.m. and the men's game follows at 4 p.m.
Both teams are currently ranked in the NWAACC (Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges) Coaches Poll. The women are ranked #1 with a 19-1 record as of today and the men are ranked #3 with a record of 16-4. Get updates online at http://www.lanetitans.net
