EUGENE, OR - A one-man play, "Pouring Tea: Black Gay Men Of The South Tell Their Tales," will be performed by Dr. E. Patrick Johnson at Lane Community College on Thursday, January 17, from 1-2:50 p.m. in the Ragozzino Performance Hall, Building 6, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene.
Continuing to build on Lane's Storytelling Model for Social Justice through the Arts, this award-winning play has won the Black Theatre Alliance Award for Best Solo Performance. A Q&A session and book signing will follow the performance.
Johnson is a professor of performance studies and African American studies at Northwestern University. A scholar, artist and activist, he has performed nationally and internationally and has published widely on the topics of race, gender, sexuality, and performance (http://epatrickjohnson.com/biography).
