Eugene, OR - The Small Business Development Center's (SBDC) Non-profit Management Institute is preparing to move to a new location at the first of the year. Classes have started, but enrollment is still open in the two programs; designed to help nonprofits gain the skills needed to survive tough economic times. The nine-month long professional development programs run from October 2012 through June 2013. Beginning in January, meetings will be held at the LCC's Downtown Campus building, situated at 101 West 10th Avenue, Ste. 304, in Eugene.
The Non-Profit Management Institute offers hope for struggling organizations and the possibility of much greater success for those more stable. Geared towards early-stage nonprofits to advanced administrations; the curriculum teaches managers, directors, key staff and volunteers skills needed to survive tough-economic times. The programs are designed in the SBDC's recognizable formula of: instruction, peer networking, experienced professional speakers, and one-on-one advising. The newly revised Non-Profit Management programs assist in sustaining and improving operations.
LCC is one of the few community colleges in the nation offering a comprehensive program, of this level. Similar to one offered at Columbia University for $8,400; this local program, with community funding, is available for considerably less, ranging from $795 to $895. Participants have said that it is the best professional development course they have taken and one class session is worth the entire tuition.
Classes have started, but registrations for the Non-Profit Management Institute program are still being accepted, through December 21.
