EUGENE, OR - The Lane Community College Women Titans soccer team will fight breast cancer as well as the Chemeketa Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in its Third Annual Pink Out home game at Lane main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Titans will give away free, commemorative pink T-shirts to the first 500 spectators, to help raise awareness about breast cancer. Donations will be accepted and given to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a foundation dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment, and the search for a cure.
The Titans started the Pink Out game in observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Athletic Director Greg Sheley says response has been inspiring the two previous events. "People really want to help prevent and treat this disease. Turning out for the Pink Out game is a fun way to show your support, and of course, learn more about women's soccer at Lane."
The team currently is currently tied for first place in the NWAACC Southern Region standings. For more information go online at: http://www.lanetitans.net/soccer-w-/
