Senior Companion Program at Lane Community College

Recruiting Senior Companions across Lane County—a volunteer opportunity with benefits

EUGENE, Ore. - Help your neighbors in Eugene, Springfield, Cottage Grove, Junction City, Oakridge, and Veneta. Help frail elders and adults living with disabilities maintain their independence by visiting them weekly.Two Senior Companions

The federal Senior Companion Program is currently accepting applications from women and men in Cottage Grove and Creswell, age 55 and better, who meet low income guidelines and can serve as Senior Companions for 15 to 40 hours per week. You will receive extensive training and on-going supervision, a tax-exempt stipend of $2.65 per hour, and some reimbursement for meals and mileage—after passing a thorough criminal background check and physical exam.

Companions serve in partnership with local organizations. The Senior Companion Program is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service and has been sponsored locally by Lane Community College for almost 40 years.
