Eugene, OR - Lane Community College and the Associated Students of Lane Community College ask for public support for one of their own, former English as a Second Language student Rudwan Dawod.
Dawod is a Springfield resident who was arrested in Sudan on July 3 at a peaceful student-led protest and is now facing imprisonment or worse. He was leading a reconciliation project in South Sudan for the U.S.-based NGO Sudan Sunrise. Lane is concerned for his well-being and safe return.
Dawod was enrolled in ESL classes at Lane in fall 2010, winter 2011 and winter 2012 and completed the ESL program.
