EUGENE, OR – The "Festival of Films From Around the Islamic World" at Lane Community College continues next week with a showing of "Ten" directed by Abbas Kiarostami of Iran on Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in Building 17, Room 307, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene. The film is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
"Ten" is renowned Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami's 2002 examination of a microcosm of early 21st century Tehran. It features 10 scenes, which are really 10 conversations, all in her car, between a woman driver and a variety of passengers, including her young son, a woman on her way to prayer, a prostitute, a bride, and her sister.
Coming up: May 30: "The Lizard" directed by Kamal Tabrizi of Iran.
