EUGENE, OR - Eighteen choreographers take the stage with original works May 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ragozzino Performance Hall at Lane Community College, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene.
These dance students have been immersed in a year-long course of study in the art and craft of choreography, and are showcasing the fruits of their creative process in Lane's annual spring student dance concert, The Works.
Tickets are $10 general admission, and $5 students, staff and seniors, and available online at www.lanecc.edu/perarts/online-box-office or at the door.
The program includes Stacey Chamberlain's dance film, "Petrichor," which won the Ashland Independent Film Festival college student competition. Also featured will be compositions in tap, musical theater, jazz, hip hop, modern and postmodern dance.
Choreographers are Geo Bitgood, Krisashwa Wade, Mariah Melson, Caitlin Nelson, Deanna Carlson, Chelsey Buystedt, Sabrina Heaven, Davey Romero, Angela Ryder, Sarah Keller, Sharon Hainley, Leisa Haddad, Jillian Samanas, Kalysa Bond, Audra Cole, Jen Ford, Gina Knox, and Stacey Chamberlain.
