EUGENE, OR - Lane Community College will host the second annual Lane Family Day on Saturday, May 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Center Building cafeteria on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene.
Last year more than 400 parents and their children attended to get a taste of college life.
The day begins with a free pancake breakfast from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by an activity fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Real life superheroes, from chefs and pilots to nurses and EMTs, will greet the families. Activities will include: Zany Zoo petting zoo; flight simulator from Lane's aviation program; Learning Garden activity; arts and craft table; science table; nurse's station; face painting; culinary table; international table; tooth fairy; obstacle course/play area; nutrition department and more.
Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero. All ages are welcome.
"We are excited to welcome children to campus and showcase what Lane has to offer them. We want the children of our community to understand how Lane can help them achieve their superhero dreams," says organizer Michael O'Neal.
There is no charge; donations will be accepted.
