EUGENE OR - The Oregon Department of Transportation is sponsoring a new Small Business Management (SBM) Program for contractors at the Lane Community College Small Business Development Center this year. The program will be held from 6-9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27 to Tuesday, May 29. Each class is devoted to small business management topics, how to do business with ODOT for effective bids, understanding ODOT-specific issues, and peer group discussion. In addition, businesses will be eligible to receive one-on-one confidential business advising from an experienced advisor at no additional cost.
For eligibility, a company must be: 1. certified as an Emerging Small Business (ESB), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), or Women Business Enterprise (WBE); 2. capable of performing an ODOT contract (construction or support services that may be associated with transportation or its related services or facilities).
The reduced registration fee is $200. A second person from the business fee is $150. Limited registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Only eligible firms who meet the criteria and send in their application and registration fees will be accepted.
