The Torch, Lane Community College’s student-run newspaper, took home the Best of Show for two-year colleges award at the 2016 Associated Collegiate Press National Student Journalism convention in Los Angeles. The Torch was up against numerous community colleges from throughout the western United States. Production Director Zack Russell says, “It's an absolute honor working with the team making this paper every week.”

The Torch staff thanks the Lane community for its dedication and support over the years. While the team is thrilled to take home this prestigious award, it isn’t going to rest on its laurels. The Torch management crew is working on new digital and multimedia offerings—stay tuned.
