Wireless Network

Wireless Network

LCC WiFi

LCC WiFi is the primary wireless network for both staff and students on the main campus, Downtown, Cottage Grove, Florence campuses, and Aviation Academy. LCC WiFi provides different access levels based on the user. Students will be able to access the Internet and Lane services such as myLane and LaneDrive. Staff will be able to access additional services such as printing and Banner.

LCC WiFi Login

LCC WiFi users login using the same L number and password used to access myLane. Staff have the additional option of using their Novel login or Groupwise email and password. Initial setup of LCC WiFi is more involved than LCC Guest, but once done the device will automatically re-connect for as long as the login remains valid. Setup instructions are available online in the knowledgebase.

For assistance with LCC WiFi, contact the Employee Help Desk or Student Help Desk.

LCC Guest

The LCC Guest network provides Internet access through wireless access points on the main campus, Downtown, Cottage Grove, Florence campuses, and Aviation Academy. Access is available to visitors, staff and students free of charge. Lane services such as myLane, LaneDrive and Groupwise webmail are available using the LCC Guest, but native Banner and printing are not.

LCC Guest Login

To access LCC Guest, open your web browser and you should automatically be directed to the login page. If you are having trouble reaching the initial login page, close your browser and open it again and type in any URL.

Visitors must create a temporary account using the self-registration link on the initial login page. Temporary accounts are valid for 7 days. Visitors needing access for a longer period my register again and receive a new temporary account. Staff and students may login using the same L number and password you use for logging into myLane, but are encouraged to use LCC WiFi rather than LCC Guest.

Student access to LCC Guest is available beginning the first day of the current term through the last day of the term. All 12 weeks of the summer term are treated as one term.

For assistance with LCC Guest, contact the Employee Help Desk or Student Help Desk.

Logout

Devices are automatically logged out of the system after a period of inactivity or when the device is suspended or shut down. Reconnection is automatic for LCC WiFi users, but LCC Guest users will need to login each time they re-connect.
