Committee discussion items:

1- Siv Barnum started a discussion around the Associate of General Studies page 47 of the current catalog (see attachment) at the October meeting.  Siv provided further information at today's meeting (see attachment) and Deb also brought an example to the meeting (see attached) as to why she believes it should stay as it is. Siv brought up the questions as to whether there could be any other option to the math combo e.g. replace the current Math and Computer science combo with Math and Physiology to meet today's current community needs.  Jeff would like to discuss this further at the January meeting.

2- Sub committees for approving courses for the AAOT requirements was discussed. We currently have three: Honors, Cultural Literacy and Health, Wellness and Fitness. The question arose as to whether these courses still need to be submitted to the curriculum committee for review and approval.  The committee agreed that once they were approved by the sub committee they did not need to come to the CAC for apporval but rather just an FYI on the agenda.  It was also suggested that we have at least one representative from each sub-committee on the curriculum committee.  Michael Samano is currently a committee member and represents cultural literacy.

3- The new criteria for the AAOT Human Relations requirement (see form) was reviewed one last time and approved.
