Attendance via telephone conference call:
Chair Roger Hall called the meeting of the Lane Community College Board of Education to order at 8:35 a.m.  Present by telephone were:  Board Members Bob Ackerman, Mike Rose, Lucille Salmony, and Kathleen Shelley.  Present in the Boardroom was Board Member Dennis Shine.  Also present were President Mary Spilde and Assistant to the President Tracy Simms.

Appointment of Board Member for Zone 5
Shelley nominated Paul Holvey and Salmony nominated Larry Romine.  The nomination for Holvey failed 5-1 (No Ackerman, Hall, Rose, Salmony, and Shine).  The nomination for Romine passed 5-1 (No Shelley).

Date, and Place for Next Regular Meeting
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, September 11, 2002, beginning at 7:30 p.m., at the Florence Campus of Lane Community College.

Adjournment
The board meeting unanimously adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
