The Lane Community College Board of Education held a series of events inviting members of the public to contribute their best thinking and help determine the college's strategic directions for the next five years.
2014/15 was the fifth and final year of the college's 2010-2015 Strategic Plan.
Ideas such as, "Lane is the community's college; will this mean something different in 10 years than it does today?" and "What do you depend on from LCC?" and "What is missing from Lane's current strategic directions?" were presented followed by Q and A.
The public was encouraged to attend the conversations as public input is crucial. In addition, leaders in education, business, government, health care, and other stakeholders were invited. Lane's board has conducted similar outreach from time to time over the years, most recently in 2008 to gauge public support for an $83 million, 15-year bond that voters later approved.
