250,000-hour flight training safety record earns
Lane Community College an FAA safety award
Lane Community College received an award from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2004 for completing 250,000 consecutive hours and 30 million miles of professional flight training since 1967 without a single injury accident. The FAA's Portland Office Safety Program Manager Keith Crimin credited LCC Flight Technology Department and the expertise and dedication of the flight training staff and students, for achieving this notable record of excellence.
Safety is the number-one priority at Flight Technology. Each airplane is maintained to a high standard. Our flight instructors are well-trained and standardized. Students are taught to make decisions in a timely manner when faced various situations.
