New Planes for LCC
EUGENE, Ore. — They may be small, but they're playing a huge role at the Lane Aviation Academy.
The latest trainers at the flight school, built in Oregon, are called RV-12′s, from Van's Aircraft in Aurora, Oregon.
The school bought them for $115,000, and say they're thrilled with the light sports planes' performance. In fact, instructors at the academy say students are learning to solo faster than larger, more traditional trainers.
"It's very responsive. And that's one of the fun parts about this airplane is that, yeah, you can do all the flight training, but it does have a lot of responsiveness," said Sean Parrish, Lane Aviation Academy flight instructor.
