Smarter Balanced

Oregon high school students with Smarter Balanced statewide assessment test results in English Language Arts and Mathematics may be able to receive a waiver from taking the required Lane Community College Placement tests if they meet criteria below.

In order to qualify for the waiver, the student must submit a copy of their Smarter Balanced assessment scores AND their high school senior year transcripts to the Testing Office at smarterbalanced@lanecc.edu, or fax them to (541) 463-5020. Within approximately two business days, an email with results of the waiver request will be sent to the student.

For those who successfully completed other high school English or Math courses than those on the lists below, please contact the appropriate office to determine if they are equivalent for the waiver. For English/Writing inquiries, email high school senior year transcripts to WritingEquivalencies@lanecc.edu, or fax materials to (541) 463-4162.  Contact the Math Division for Math inquiries.
