As a member of the Carter Administration and as current president of the Morning Star Institute, Suzan has been a key figure in many important Indian legislative battles, including the passage of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and the American Indian Religious Freedom Act.
Dennis Martinez is Founder and Co-Chair of the Indigenous Peoples' Restoration Network and is Co- Director of the Takelma Intertribal Project. He works internationally with community-based Indigenous Peoples on cultural rights, resource access and protection, climate change, forest restoration, and bridging Western Science with Traditional Ecological Knowledge.
