This procedure describes the consideration expected of faculty and academic deans toward students who are military reservists whose reserve duty conflicts with their academic commitments.
Students who are military reservists will be given release from classes in cases where reserve duty overlaps with their academic commitments.
Faculty should provide consideration for these absences, and reserve students should not be academically penalized.
Department chairs shall establish program policies to ensure cooperation and consideration between reserve students and their faculty; and to set up the opportunity for the reservists to meet their academic responsibilities by having requisite information and materials provided by their instructors.
