Purpose: 

This policy establishes an official means of communications for students to:
· Improve the timeliness and reliability of communication and
· Integrate sustainable operations.

This policy affects all students of Lane Community College.

Narrative: 

Lane Community College will primarily use electronic communications to conduct official college business. Students will be provided with an annual notice of what form of electronic communication will be the primary delivery method. The notice will also include the process for students needing alternative forms of official communication.

Students are expected to read all official communications relating to LCC business and when necessary take action as a result of communications received from the college.
It is expected that students will monitor their college electronic accounts to receive the most up-to-date information. It is expected that students will maintain a current email address in the campus Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system throughout their tenure at Lane.

Definitions: 

Electronic Communications: Includes, but is not limited to, email, SMS (texting), and social media. Official communications include email and postal delivered mail.
