Description/Artist Statement:
The Heart and Hand Quilts were made in memory of Joan Thomas, a Mathematics instructor who died of breast cancer in 2001. The hearts and hands on the quilts are symbols of caring and helping. The hands included in the quilts include those of her husband, daughter, and Mathematics staff and instructors.
The quilts were made by Math instructor, Jill McKenney.
