photo of Downtown Center typewriter, 1980sThe ramp between Business Tech and what was originally called the Apprenticeship Building did not exist when the school first opened in the autumn of 1968; this caused many people to be late for class if they had typing (done on IBM Selectric typewriters) back-to-back with something like history or English. In order to get from one class to another, you had to go from B-Tech around Industrial Tech to get to Apprenticeship, which was really annoying to the staff. I got up a petition and got a lot of people to sign it, which caused the new ramp to be built.
